Operating a numerically-controlled machine requires skills in reading and interpreting drawings, a good knowledge of materials and cutting conditions, as well as knowledge of metrology and control. Numerically-controlled operators are responsible for machine maintenance and first-level servicing. They work in compliance with quality, safety and environmental requirements.

Career development: depending on their technical and professional skills, CNC operators can move up to another type of machine or to support functions (CAD, logistics, etc.). Depending on their managerial skills and know-how, they may also progress to team leader positions.

Numerical control professions can be applied to a variety of technologies:

  • Laser cutting: the performance of laser cutting is constantly evolving: diversification of materials, increased cutting thickness, improved finish and precision. These technological developments mean that the OXYMETAL Group is constantly upgrading the skills of its operators.

  • Flamecutting: enables the cutting of complex shapes, large and small formats, series or single pieces, in high thicknesses. The operator is responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining the machine.

  • Bending: after cutting, the metal sheets are bent to precise dimensions and angles. The operator programs the data, bends the parts, checks them and packages them. Bending requires precision and attention to detail.

  • Machining: involves removing material to produce mechanical parts. The operator must set up his machine, check the condition of his cutting tools, ensure that the program runs smoothly and control his parts.

OSC® TEST WEIGHTS AND CACES

The OXYMETAL Group offers a complete range of test weights and CACES® weights, marketed under the OSC® brand.

Our test weights enable you to carry out all the mandatory periodic checks on lifting and handling equipment required by the VGP (Vérifications Générales Périodiques) regulations.

Our CACES® weights are suitable for training and passing the various CACES® tests, and comply with INRS recommendations R482 and R489.
